In Arizona cocaine rehab news, a Phoenix man was recently sentenced to 8 years in prison after authorities caught him with fifty pounds of cocaine.

Judge Richard Kopf gave Mr. Silbestre Barragan-Penalosa, 29, his sentence last Tuesday. Penalosa will also have to spend 5 years under supervised release once his prison sentence ends.

In February of last year, an officer from the Nebraska State Patrol pulled over Penalosa's vehicle. When troopers searched the car, they found a hidden compartment that contained the cocaine.

Attorneys report that Barragan-Penalosa and a female passenger, Yesenia Millan Gonzalez, attempted to convince officers that they were vacationing in Nebraska because the couple had Ms. Gonzalez's two children with them.
